Active Manuka Honey
For many years honey has been prized for its healing properties and sweet taste.
All
honey types contain hydrogen peroxide, which is a natural antibiotic
and antiseptic. But the amount of hydrogen peroxide can vary widely
from one honey to another. Dr Molan has found that Active Manuka honey
is very effective against bacteria that cause the following;
- Infected wounds - most commonly caused by Staphylococcus aureus.
- Peptic ulcers – Helicobacter pylori
- Sore throats – Streptococcus pyrogens
“The
honey being sold as ‘Active Manuka honey’ is the only honey available
that is being tested for its antibacterial activity and selected for
sale based on its level of activity”. (Dr Peter Molan M.B.E)
